Lance Buhrman | President & General Manager

As President & General Manager of Buhrman Design Group, Lance took his passion for landscape creations and founded the company more than 25 years ago. He is known for his artistic vision and inclusive approach to working with residential and commercial clients. A constant learner, Lance has completed courses at Purdue University, the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association.

“I find beauty in all seasons and all living things.” Lance believes that a home is not restrained by bricks and mortar but extends to surrounding nature. His greatest inspiration is giving life to a project and ensuring clients are impressed with the outcome. His company goal for Buhrman Design Group is “always create and perform better than expected.”

Buhrman Design Group partners with the most experienced architects and designers and the highest quality suppliers. Combining indigenous trees, shrubs, and ornamental grasses with unique water features and decorative stone, or simply restoring a lawn and planting shrubs for a new homeowner, each project is approached with the same level of horticultural expertise and professionalism.

Lance is an avid hunter, dog trainer and beekeeper. He loves all things outdoors, lives for every day and embraces all the earth has to offer. He is a passionate chef, often using herbs and vegetables grown from his own garden and honey harvested from his beehives.

He fully enjoys family gatherings where he can accommodate a spread of diverse eating styles. He and his wife have five children, two grandchildren and three dogs.
